Longtime lobbyist Linda Pryor's friends don't want to come out and ask if she's dead.

In a case of mistaken identity, the Pfizer advocate and familiar face at the Capitol has received a number of tearful phone calls and messages from folks she hasn't heard from in decades following the tragic hiking death of a woman by the same name.

"They'll send you text messages, phone calls," Pryor said. "They say 'Hi, how are you doing'" when Pryor unexpectedly answers the phone.

Pryor, who is doing fine, said the calls are beginning to taper off. The hiker fell to her death Saturday.
