You, Obama and the primetime Drama!

Obama has said that parents need to turn-off the television.  However, I'm sure he wants that "puppy" on tonight!

Obama's big night is tonight, but the question is -- who will watch? No doubt there are those who want to hear from Obama but there are also those who don't want to hear from Obama (can you say Republicans).  Still there is a slice of the electorate who would like to hear from Obama without interruption and spin (that would be independents and the undecided). Those in either category will want to look at Obama from the front, the back and both sides... and they don't want to be rushed. They want to inspect him like you would inspect an expensive piece of fish that has that "in between" smell. You know what I'm talking about...in between being really good or being really bad when you taste it. That's the razor's edge Barack will walk tonight as he steps into your living room. He could be really bad...but with just 6 days left he'd better be really good or he could find himself fuming in the garbage with the other funky smells on election day.

I think what Obama is demonstrating are "cutting-edge" ideas. I have no doubt that this latest idea is one that McCain would duplicate if only he could afford it. Like him or not--you have to admit Obama has found a way to effectively use technology in his campaign while making the average person feel as though they are a part of the political process.

I don't know how this election will fall but I do know that Barack has changed the way the game is played when it comes to running for higher office in this country. Some may say this is too big a risk for Obama to take. I say risky or not--this race is too tight for Obama to sit back and hope for a game changer. He has to re-create the game. It will be interesting to see how many people watch the "game" tonight.

Risky, indeed

Gloria, I disagree with your assessment: I don't think the race is close enough for Obama to take a risk this big.

In any case, I hope people see him for what he is: the most liberal and least experienced candidate in generations, if not in the history of our nation.

Too bad the GOP choice wasn't better.
