Hillary Clinton will not be Barack Obama's Vice Presidential nominee - at least that's the case if her reported speaking spot (and tradition) for the upcoming Democratic National Convention holds.
CNN's Suzanne Malveaux reported yesterday that two sources close to the former First Lady have told her that Clinton will be speaking on the second night of the convention. As CNN reports, that would be Aug. 26, and it's the anniversary of women getting the right to vote. But it would not be on the third night, which is the spot historically reserved for the vice-presidential nominee.
Reuters reports today that former vice president Al Gore "is on an anticipated short list of headliners" to land a speaking spot at the convention.
"He'll receive a tremendous reception," Democratic Sen. Tom Harkin of Iowa told the wire service.
