Nebraska Now Solid for Obama

Nebraska's superdelegates are now unanimously in Barack Obama's camp. The two uncommitted holdouts - State DNC Chairman Steven Achelpohl and Associate Chairwoman Audra Ostergard - declared their support for Obama in the past week.

That gives Obama six Cornhusker superdelegates. A seventh superdelegate position will be filled May 28 when Nebraska holds its state convention.

Achelpohl said he swung to Obama for two reasons:

"Number 1 is his positive message. He's had the courage to not respond to some of the attacks made on him. He is trying to elevate the debate. Two is that I've been increasingly concerned about the tone of the debate turning negative."

"We need to stop bickering and go after John McCain," he said.

Achelpohl admitted the decision was very difficult because he "owes" the Clintons.

President Bill Clinton nominated Achelpohl for a federal judgeship in 2000. The Republicans blocked that nomination, but Achelpohl said he still feels indebted.

"I love Hillary to death," he said. "But I feel Obama is trying to turn the page on this uncivil debate."

It doesn't matter which

It doesn't matter which Democrat Nebraska superdelegates support.....It is all part of the "Big Red Nation".
