Amid reports that large numbers of Oregon Republicans, assured that Sen. John McCain now has the Republican nomination, are switching parties to vote in the Democratic primary this May, a lapsed Democrat is also doing the same. State Senator Avel Gordly left the party over disagreements in partisanship, reports the Associate Press, but has re-registered in order to vote for Sen. Barack Obama—whom she calls a “unifier” in the May 20 primary.
