Superdelegate Rios doesn't feel the heat

Superdelegate Joe Rios, a copper miner from the tiny Pima County town of Kearny, said he's not feeling any pressure now that superdelegates are seen as the deciding factor in theĀ presidential candidate nomination.

Rios, the first Hispanic elected to the DNC in Arizona, said he decided to support Hillary Clinton long before superdelegate votes became crucial. And he isn't wavering.

"I've been a delegate to national conventions since 1988. I met the Clintons in 1996 and 2000. It's a loyalty thing," he explained.

Rios is one of four Arizona superdelegates who have declared support for Clinton. Barack Obama has two superdelegates and three remain undecided.

Even though Gov. Janet Napolitano is an Obama supporter, Rios said he agrees with her on one point.

He said he doesn't think having two Democratic candidates slug it out until the national conventionĀ in August is going to hurt his party.

"I don't think it will be detrimental. I think it will just kind of put John McCain on the back burner for a while."
