Voting Twice in Texas?

The Texas Democratic primary next Tuesday will be tough enough without adding to the confusion. But a close race, Sen. Hillary Clinton’s need to win, and a galvanized electorate all increase the pressure.

“We’re seeing record turnouts, so it’s difficult to gauge how the process will work out,” says party spokesman Hector Nieto.

Party workers are now scrambling to get information out to party officials to explain how the process works. "We’re making certain they have all the tools and resources necessary to answer any questions. The eyes of the world will be on Texas and we want to make sure things run as smoothly as possible.”

Meanwhile, the Dallas Morning News is none too happy about the arcane primary process, which a recent editorial derides. “It'll be a tight race, so when we say that every ballot counts, we mean every ballot in both of the Democratic votes being counted March 4,” it says. “Confused? Welcome to the club.”
