Two Maine super delegates switch states

Maine's former senator George Mitchell and former governor Kenneth Curtis are ineligible to be super delegates for Maine because they are not legal residents of the state, the Democratic National Committee confirmed Wednesday. The pair, both un-pledged super delegates, will be moved to the delegations of New York and Florida respectively. Mitchell is registered to vote in New York and Curtis in Florida.

Mitchell, former Senate Majority Leader, and Curtis, a former chairman of the Democratic National Committee, are considered distinguished party leaders and are delegates regardless of where they live. Under DNC requirements they must be part of the state delegation where they reside.

Maine now has eight super delegates and New York and Florida each have one more than previously reported with Mitchell and Curtis.
